Smith Lake Pups Morkies
Morkies are such sweet, spirited little companions, and they bring so much personality into a home. Our F1 Morkie puppies are the result of breeding a 100% purebred Maltese with a 100% purebred Yorkshire Terrier, creating a beautiful blend of affection, playfulness, and loyalty in a small, lovable package.
The puppies you see below are still here with us, receiving plenty of hands-on care, early socialization, and their final veterinary checks. Outside of extenuating circumstances, we anticipate each puppy will be ready to go home on the pickup dates listed. These early weeks are incredibly important, and we take great care to ensure every puppy is happy, healthy, and ready to begin their life with you.
Morkies always make me smile. They have such a sweet, affectionate way about them, mixed with just enough spunk to keep things fun. I love watching their confidence grow and seeing how quickly they become attached to their people.
If you’re thinking about a Morkie and want to talk through how their size, personality, and energy might fit into your home or daily life, I’d be more than happy to help you decide what feels right.

A Little More About Our Morkies
Morkie - a mix between a Purebred Yorkie and a purebred Maltese.
Morkies are known for their loving nature and lively personalities. They’re curious, affectionate, and enjoy being close to their people. These little pups often form strong bonds and love being part of the family’s daily routine.
They tend to do well in a variety of homes and are especially well-suited for families looking for a smaller companion with a big heart. Whether it’s playtime or cuddle time, Morkies are happiest when they’re right by your side.
Why Families Love Morkies
(These advantages are typically the case but cannot be guaranteed to be true of each individual doodle puppy.)
Morkies are a favorite for families who want a small dog with a lot of personality. Thanks to hybrid vigor, they are often healthy and resilient. Their coats are typically low-shedding and may be more allergy-friendly for many households.
They’re also known for being affectionate, alert, and full of charm. Morkies are easy to manage due to their size, but they bring a wonderful mix of energy and companionship into the home. They love attention and thrive in environments where they’re included and loved.
The Morkie Personality
Maltese are known for their gentle, loving nature, while Yorkshire Terriers bring confidence and a bold little spirit. Together, this creates a puppy that is affectionate, loyal, and full of personality.
Morkies are typically very people-focused and enjoy attention and interaction. They’re not known for aggression, but they can be alert and expressive. With proper socialization, they are wonderful companions for families and individuals alike. And of course, they love to cuddle just as much as they love to play.
The Morkie Care & Maintenance
Morkie coats can vary from soft and silky to slightly wavy, depending on genetics. Most are low-shedding, but regular grooming is important to keep their coat healthy and free from tangles.
Weekly brushing is usually recommended, along with routine nail trims and occasional grooming appointments throughout the year. With consistent care, Morkies are easy to maintain and stay looking their best.
Typical Morkie Colors
Morkie colors can vary widely and often include Black, Tan, Brown, Cream, White, and Parti combinations. Some puppies may also lighten or change slightly in color as they grow, making each one uniquely beautiful.
